The emphasis of this period (second semester of 2012) will be placed on two issues ; (1) Hearing Screening with OAEs or similar / derived protocols ; and (ii) OAE analysis methods. Numerous updates on the OAE instrumentation, from our sponsors, are expected with the first two months of the year. As usual the latest updates in terms of lectures and white-papers can be found at the future highlights page.
This year we are entering smoothly the 11th year of our existence and the first indications and feedback I have from the editorial board is that we have resolved the various delays we experienced in 2011. Nevertheless several issues remain valid such as (i) there are fewer significant news to report about and (ii) that the Portal contains a considerable amount of information on numerous topics, which make the selection of "fresh" material more complex.
I hope that the above complexities will be addressed this year and maybe we will develop additional pages on other areas of hearing (related directly or in-directly to OAEs or OAE-technologies) which are important to professionals and students of Audiology, ENT and Hearing Science .
Last word on the topic of the OAE-FORUM. For some unknown reason certain messages in the FORUM were blocked as SPAM and were not distributed properly to the section administrators. Unfortunately, we suspect that this procedure was operational for the last 6 months. Although we are assured that everything is functional now, IF for whatever reason you do not get a response to your FORUM post after a week, PLEASE notify us .
